The Rufus Gene

Grandmother...

My grandmother's cooking was everything to talk about; even now that she is not here anymore! I can recall tales of persons stopping by her house in the cool hills of St. Andrew, Jamaica, on their way from the market, their offices, church, or school, and being fed with good Jamaican food. After they ate to their heart's content, they would tell her that she needed to start a restaurant or catering service.

Sleep in peace, Joyce Rufus.

Mother...

It was my mother's dream to go into tourism and hospitality to share the skills that were passed down to her but this dream was never realized.  Nevertheless, having the experience, skills, and training, she has always been doing catering jobs, fulfilling wedding cake orders, and teaching cooking classes alongside her day job as a then classroom teacher and now Principal (Acting).

May I inherit half your strength, Sharon Rufus.

Me...

Growing up in this family, it was always my desire to build my own group of companies. Since I am also able to throw it down in the kitchen, it was a no-brainer for me, Rowena-Reneé, that the taste of the Rufus kitchen be shared with the world.
